How to complete the Initial Setup process in WHM

Description
  • On logging in, the first thing you will see is a window, if you do a mistake here, you will not be able to fix them in future, so be careful.
  • Agree to the EULA to proceed to step 2.
  • Enter all the details and click on Save & Go to Step 3. It will take some time for the settings to save.
  • You can add IP Addresses in the new window, if you won’t be adding any IP addresses, click on Skip This Step and Use Default Settings.
  • As described on the page, a nameserver is a program which maintains a list of your domains and their corresponding IP addresses. If you have several cPanel servers, it’s best to share the DNS records to minimize the risk of downtime.
  • Now, choose the nameserver program you wish to use on this server. Scroll down; in order to set up a nameserver, you will need an IP address for each. Be sure to create hosts for the nameservers rather than just subdomains.
  • Make sure that the main domain name is set to use the correct nameservers.
  • When you have all of them sorted, enter the nameservers’ hostnames in the columns and then verify all the IP addresses are correct. Save and go to step 5.
  • You can alter the options here though the default options should be just ok. Click on Save & Go to Step 6.
  • Wait for the settings to be saved. Now, for the final step. Choose the desired option and click on Finish Setup Wizard.
  • The initial setup is now complete. Everything entered can be changes using the various pages listed.
