How to configure Apache web server in WHM

Description
  • Apache web server is the most important part of your WHM server. It is that program which allows visitors to view our websites.
  • Go to Service Configuration>Apache Configuration.
  • Start with global configuration page. This page allows you to make some minor adjustment to the way apache works. The default settings are just fine in most of the cases.
  • When done with the settings, click on save to keep the settings.
  • Click on the link to rebuild Apache’s configuration files and restart the program.
  • Return to the Apache configuration page. Now go to PHP and SuExec Configuration.
  • This page allows you to choose the PHP version available on the system. After changing the settings, click on Save New Configuration.
  • You will be shown the settings you chose and the generated php.conf file.
  • Now, go to DirectoryIndex Priority. It lets you change which filenames can be used for index page of a directory, as well as order of preference.
  • You can move up, move down, add or remove. When done, click Save.
  • Again you have to rebuild the configuration.
  • Let’s go to Memory Usage Restriction page now. This can increase the stability of your server at the cost of performance. Click on proceed to continue. The memory limit has been adjusted.
