Getting Started with Parallels Plesk Panel 10

  • Plesk 10 is split up into two different separate panels: Server Administration Panel and Control Panel.
  • System Overview box lists all Resellers, Customers, Service plans and subscriptions, with links to add new ones and see who is exceeding their limits.
  • Server Health lets you see a glance the health of five main resources: Services, Disk, Memory, CPU and Network.
  • Check Hosting Services section starting with Customers. You can manage customer accounts, create new logs, manage existing customers and remove accounts in this section.
  • Hosting services have been restructured. Instead of clients, you now have Customers. Customer accounts never expire and don?t actually provide any hosting services.
  • When a customer signs up for a hosting plan, a new subscription is added to their account. Subscriptions provide hosting services to your customers.
  • Click on Subscriptions link on left side of window to manage them. You will find a list of all subscriptions on the server: customer and reseller subscriptions; as well as your own.
  • Click on Service plans tab to manage services. If a subscription uses a certain plan, any future changes to that plan will automatically be applied to subscription. It is known as synchronization. If you ever make customizations to a subscription, it will be locked from synchronization and no plan changes will affect the subscription unless it is unlocked.
  • Add-on plans can be assigned to subscriptions by giving them additional features above and beyond what already comes with subscription?s service plan.
  • Click on Domains tab. The page gives you a list of all the domains in system, their setup dates, associated subscriptions & subscribers. Link to corresponding Control Panels.
  • Click on Resellers page by clicking on tab on left side. Resellers are limited administer accounts. They can manage customers and subscriptions, but they can?t access any of server admin features or create other resellers.
  • To manage Reseller plans, go to Service plans. Open the reseller plans tab. Similar to hosting plans, reseller plans place limits on what your resellers can do and resources they can use.
  • In tools and utilities. You can manage server and configure panel, system services and resources. Manage system IPs address and database servers, upload new applications, customize virtual host template and much more.
  • Click on Health Monitoring tab. It is new feature in Plesk 10. It is designed to simplify server troubleshooting and let you configure alarm thresholds for automatic notification.
  • Click on Hosting Services > Subscriptions. Use control panel link next to subscription to access its panel. Plesk 10 control panel for end users have much simpler design than in Plesk 9. It is still powerful than the previous one.
